Nah, I just enjoy your witty banter.
I guess the Auckland Pt'ers are too busy calculating the daily capital gain increases, and how much they are saving with the low interest rates to worry about it.
Plus they probably realise that if the Sheriff sells their rate defaulting property on them, it will only be snapped up by a fully cashed up foreigner who is more than happy to take advantage of our free market here.
Section 62 of the Local Government (Rating) Act 2002 gives councils the right to extract rates from a person's mortgage, reaffirming powers that existed in previous legislation. But they have to wait until November 1 of the following financial year in which the rates are unpaid before going to the bankLast edited by speights boy; 07-08-2012, 08:46 PM.

You say you want a revolution
Well you know
We all want to change the world
..............
You say you got a real solution
Well you know
We don't all love to see the plan
You ask me for a contribution
Well you know
We're doing what we can
But if you want money for people with minds that hate
All I can tell you is brother you have to wait
have you defeated them?
your demons

Yeah well it doesn't seem to be money that stirs those that complain the most, it's the thought of some one potentially screwing with their their kids future that gets women steamed up and they seem to have the loudest voices, eg reducing the numbers of teachers so that the school can pay the excellent ones what they are worth.
If women or refining that, mothers thought that their children might be disadvantaged by a rates hike then they would oppose it. However as long as someone is making sure the finances tick over and there is no possibility of Jenny and John having to move out of the home into a caravan park then most women will go with the flow.
I too thought that maybe by having the Super City, amalgamating the Councils etc would make it more cost effective.
Len is too opinionated and smarmy for my liking, not to forget that he is a lawyer and most, not all of them I put in the same category as HRV salesmen.

Dear oh dear. You certainly didn't think about that too much. In fact it probably is a bit more cost-effective, but we are talking about city councils, so they certainly don't feel any need to pass on savings to the customers. It just gives them more money to spend.

If we as voters don't think the Council are doing a very good job then vote for change. I don't think that anyone should be running a business like a Council unless they are suitably qualified. There are some absolute plonkers working out of the office in Orewa.

Maybe homosexuality is a lifestyle choice and maybe there alot of abused kids that end up gay??
I could choose a same sex partner now and that would be choice, and if I'd been abused by a bloke when I was little then there's a big chance that I might have an aversion to men?
Who knows, at least he puts his money where his mouth is and funds his own campaigns. Watch out if you hear of a female property investor standing for the Conservative Party in the next elections it might just be me TLL!!

Life is all about choices TLL, and yes I do choose to be heterosexual but should I jump the fence in the future it's because I choose to be gay.
A psychtherapist once told me that the adults we become is infuenced by our childhood and upbringing. I have always influenced my sons thinking towards the opposite sex and I admit that I would be momentarily disappointed if they told me they were gay.
As long as you tell people that its acceptable to behave in a certain way then they will forever believe that it's acceptable. Just like the DBH being pro tenants, as long as they allow tenants to think it's ok to not pay rent, trash a house or whatever other things they do that require mediation then that becomes the norm and is acceptable.
I do however accept that people are born with either more testosterone (females) or estrogen (males) and because society now says it is ok to be gay that it becomes easy for them to "make that choice".
A friends son always played with Barbie dolls as a youngster and had alot of girlfriends and not many mates. He came out 2 years ago and his parents are not happy. Perhaps things would have been different if they had taken the Barbies away and replaced them with trucks and guns?
Have you checked on Wikipedia to see where mumbo-jumbo comes from? Colins not a racist.
