The first Central Auckland group of 2012 will feature a four-men panel discussion on property investment, the housing trends in Auckland and industry tips and tricks picked up over the years by the panelists.
The panelists are:
Andrew Bruce - Andrew has been a member of APIA since 2004 and joined the Board in 2009. From 2010 he has been the APIA Vice President.
Andrew’s interest in property steams back to his university days where he qualified as a valuer gaining a BCom in Valuation and Property Management from Lincoln University. Subsequent to graduating he spent a year and a half playing and coaching tennis professionally in Germany before commencing a career within the property industry. Currently he splits his time between his own project management company and working on projects within his property portfolio.
Barry Bridgman - Barry has been investing since the mid 80's in the Mt Albert, Sandringham and Mt Eden areas. During this period he has been self employed in the engineering consulting and construction industries.
Barry has a hands on attitude to property investment and has always managed his own properties. His 'claim to fame' is that he hasn't suffered any rent defaults or property damage and has had only one visit to the Tenancy Tribunal.
Barry would like to share some key principles that will ensure you minimse your time in mediation and the Tenancy Tribunal.
Jimmy Ho - Jimmy bought his first investment property in 2009 after graduating from the University of Auckland. Between 2009 and 2011, Jimmy worked as an engineer full-time and continued property investment in the weekends. He has now purchased five properties since he started. Jimmy would like to share his war stories and experiences with his recent projects and as a project manager for several renovations.
Gavin Logan - Gavin bought his first investment property in 1982. He worked as a Real Estate agent for 4 years in the early 1980s and then began property trading and building spec houses until 1999. Gavin built 51 houses either in partnership or on his own. Most were built “labour only” and one he still owns as a rental. He is now living almost solely off rental income from a small portfolio of rental property, with low gearing, in Mt Albert and New Windsor in Auckland. Gavin manages his own properties.
This will be an interactive Q&A session and we encourage you to bring along your questions for these experienced investors!
