Hello,
Some advice would be very welcome.
My tenant gave notice and was due to vacate on Tuesday 26th April. I had advised him of the details of the final inspection etc, so everything appeared to be ok.
When the rent wasn't paid this last week I was on the phone straight away, after 3 days of no answer I called the next of kin. They advised that he is now serving 18 months jail time!. He has cleaned out the flat and posted the keys back to me. (IP is in a different city from where I live).
I already have a agency on the job of looking for new tenants, so no issues on that front.
He also disposed of some of the furniture without permission, however in his letter giving notice he acknowledged that he would have to pay for the furniture. On one hand I am confident that he will not agrue re the rent and furniture costs, but HOW on earth do I get his signature on the bond refund form given his current living arrangements !!
Any thoughts would be greatly received !!
Thanks
LL
