David - remember saying something about a tradie who gets a GST Return wrong and the W'gton woodenheads who mostly just get things wrong and how they excuse them . . .

I spotted this in the item linked, below.

I thought about that comment of yours, immediately.

Government shifts goalposts on 1800 new police promise after PM questioned in Parliament

Seems just like the aspiration for 10,000 affordable homes each year and no new taxes and . . .

Yes, sigh, these guys just all do this. Adern comes across as an honest person, but obviously she's finding it hard to be honest when things are going wrong. It's like she's becoming corrupted by the system. If you are totally honest, all the time, then you are out next election...

But if you fudge things a bit, whilst still appearing honest, then you can perhaps get another term.

Of course Winnie doesn't even bother with trying to appear honest, he's a crook through and through and everyone with half a brain knows it. Trouble is, the old dears over 60 don't have half a brain any more...

So, they seem to be able to set these targets, make promises and then get away with not fulfilling them. And indeed, refusing to admit they even set those targets, or made those promises at all. And people still vote for them.

Trouble is, it's both sides of the house which do this.
        Squadly dinky do!

Funny, I've only noticed Labour come up with stupid targets that they promise to hit if they get elected.

          • If the politics outside his office was difficult, that going on inside it was becoming toxic and untenable.

Insiders claim decisions were often made on emotion rather than reasoning.

              It finally happened:

Jacinda Ardern will take four days leave from Prime Ministerial duties to recover from dental surgery, which she is having on Friday.
It's understood she will be under general anaesthetic and will take four days off, including two days over the weekend, to recover.
Stretch the top lip, pin back the ears and tighten the neck.
Next year, she'll be beautiful for the election.

              • The unfortunate truth facing Ardern and her Labour colleagues is that the likes of Peters and Jones are feeding the media with what is becoming a non-stop diet of the conflict-ridden material which the nations’ newsrooms crave.

It has to be assumed that Jones’ contribution to coalition dynamics —usually in the form of an oversized spanner chucked into its workings — has as much if not more to do with leadership succession in New Zealand First as being a constant pest to Labour

That offers no solace to Labour, however.

The impact is to marginalise reportage of Labour’s announcements.

For a political party which promised 2019 would be its “year of delivery”, belong shut out of the picture is something that Labour does not have the luxury of affording.

                • Just another chapter in a succession of failures for Taxcindarella and co.

Trouble is, where's a viable alternative?

                        • State Services Minister Chris Hipkins promised in mid-2018 the government would "reduce the reliance on expensive consultants and contractors, saving taxpayers many millions of dollars a year".

At that time, the total spend across all 30-plus public sector bodies was just over $550m.

However, annual reviews show spending on contractors and consultants at 13 of the largest departments increased a total 14 percent in a single year to $720m.

                          Auckland council has FINALLY

reduced the amount of our Rates

                          • Those Who About To Vote Salute You

Another kilometrestone for the current socio-commie clown crop, to add the the 10,000 affordable houses per year, no tax increases (just levies and excise 'changes') and . . . .

Just wait for the artfully-crafted and carefully-choreographed big wedding-day splash in election year, intend to sucker ignorant constituents to vote again for Taxcindarella and the other failures in the fantasyland fold of the fecklessly foolish.
