My friends partner, who has left christchurch, has 2 houses down there in good area's not affected by the quake, his question is:
Hey,
We were reading about the Government buyout of thousands of homes in Christchurch and wondering if this is going to cause a temporary bubble in the market making it a good idea to flog two houses.
What do you think? Do you have any insights from the property forums etc?
Cheers,
My answer besides saying I would post on here is:
As long as you are in a good area then yes, but I would allow time for these people to get there claims under way and money available.
Remember that rebuilding will also take at least 6 months to even start looking like its ready.
So Feb may be a good time.
