Database and Reminder

hey could someone please help me in advising what is the best databasing tool and i also need something that remind you and automatically send out information periodically.

Depends on your requirements, but http://www.rememberthemilk.com/is a good basic reminder tool (no affiliation)

If you need more group-based reminders, teamyell.co.nz is good (developed by a friend)

I'll do the database then ..... IMHO you can't go wrong with MySQL either alone or with some of the packages and tools you can get for it like xamp/wamp/phpMyAdmin ...etc etc
