I'm debating whether or not to join either the APIA or the NZPIA.

As a newbie, I'm wondering whether the cost would outweigh the benefit considering I only have 1 investment property, and I'm not an industry professional. Although I have aspirations......

My husband reckons I'm getting more value from this forum, and that I don't need to join an association. Which is all very well for a novice to make assumptions, but I don't like to do that. So while he's not looking, I'll ask a few questions.........

I would appreciate your opinion on the value that being an association member offers you, and why you'd recommend my joining as well.
Any examples of how this has benefited you would also be great.

I suggest that you go along and have a look to see what they offer. If you think that it will help you then you could join, if you think that it won't help then don't join. Simple.

I have found as a young invester that it is helpfull to talk with people who have been there and done it all. There are also the advantages that these intrest groups have such as discounts.
