We were unable to have the ex- tenant served the OE (even the addresses supplied by DHB, WINZ and Min of Justice returned 'unable to serve'...) so we used her relative's address and served her (you can serve the parent of the tenant) - this is called subservice, just not sure how it works, presumably the parent is supposed to forward it, but I just wonder what will happen/can happen if the ex-tenant doesn't turn up (as it is subservice we can't apply for WFA) ....
Get their bank details upon application. Use the DBH rules for returning bond for a reason. Use a garnishee order to get your money.
I got the bond ages ago, still several thousands outstanding (got the TT order) .....I was wondering if she didn't turn up to OE what could I do then given we used subservice to serve her.... (I will ask for an attachment order to her benefit if she does turn up but was told not to expect the clerk to grant it, that if the tenant offers to pay some money, however lame amount I should accept....)
