  • Sky City ready for smoke ban

    Hi all,

This is an interesting development in NZ. We have banned smoking in pubs, restaurants and casinos in Aus as well. What is now happening is the charities that receive donations from the gaming industries are not getting as much as they use to. The decrease in $$ from the gaming companies is due to the amount of people not going to play the machines anymore because they can’t smoke.

While the Government's plans to tighten anti-smoking laws put pressure on Sky City's share price when they were announced in March, the shares rose 5 cents to close at $4.60 yesterday as investors digested plans for a development costing up to A$70 million ($NZ79 million) at Sky City's Adelaide casino, which was announced yesterday.
