Ron Hoy Fong - Will The Next Boom Be The Boom Of All Booms?
When you think about it the RBNZ has basically put a few insurance policies in place - effectively when the housing market starts to drop, there are now 4 things which the RBNZ can do
1. drop rates
2. ease speed limit for home owners
3. ease speed limit for investors
4 ease capital adequacy requirements for investment lending
So are you and Ron still picking the boom continues after the pick up coming Feb - Mar - April.
Obviously this year is a bigger hit than the last 2 for the property market, but the fundamentals of supply and demand remain.
Whats in the fortune cookies for latter this year and next year.
Has the boom of all booms ended, or is it still booming ?

I always think the boom ends with the crash of Dow Jones in 2018.
Right now net migration is through the roof, there will be an upward pressure on prices and rents one way or another.
Yes bank loan restraints will slow the market, but overall I think this year prices in Auckland will still go up, especially home owner areas.
And global warming with the hook around Ausie continent weather pattern, you wana be above Ruapehu.
That extreme weather pattern is only going to get worse.
