Well you can't quite get rid of them (at least not as an ordinary user) but you can make them invisible.
The forum has a great feature called an "ignore" list. When a post appears from someone on your ignore list, all you see is:
This message is hidden because xxxxxxx is on your ignore list.
This is particularly effective in dealing with those who like to post long arguments.
It's very simple to add someone to your ignore list
and Viola (as Julia Child's would say) the pest is banished from your sight.

- Click on "User CP" on the forum menu (the line that reads User CP, FAQ, Community, Calendar etc)
- Click on "Edit Ignore List" (just below "Settings & Options")
- Type their forum name into the box "Add a Member to Your List" and click Okay
- Click "Save Changes" (this step is very important)
and Viola (as Julia Child's would say) the pest is banished from your sight.
