Which is the brilliant post? (Out of the 3150 in the thread?)

Auckland Transport 'financially irresponsible' over Devonport rideshare trial, board member says

User numbers have steadily risen since the holidays. On its busiest day the service reached 163 rides, and its best week came at the end of March with 759 rides just over half of its target of 1200 to 1400 passengers per week.

You have to trial these things to see if they work in real life - that's why it is a trial not a full deployment.

    Default Of course

But when there's no comeback on the council functionaries involved, it's easy for them to forget:

In theory, there's no difference between theory and practice.
    In practice, there is.

Tiny home consent 'mix up' forces couple to move from Auckland park

"I think this is Auckland Council bureaucracy at its worst - it's just making assumptions, there's no communication."

But then I read the article.
Probably a good idea to get people to engage and feedback to the council and if this works for that age group then fine.
I do have a problem with the whole social media thing - maybe I'm too old but it seems a bit out of control at times.

In Auckland we get an expensive publication called "Our Auckland" delivered on a regular basis.

Each issue costs around $300k to put out, and it is full of articles telling us how wonderful Auckland Council is, all the work they are doing for us, all the money they are spending on us etc.

So I'd say Wellington's approach is very muted compared to Auckland's.
