    Default APIA March Keynote: Pros and Cons of the Mortgagee Sales Process

    APIA and the Waikato Real Estate Limited presents, Chas Wilson, Phil Horrobin and Stuart Goodare of Chas Wilson Realty Limited/Ray White City Apartments, on the steps involved in taking a property to mortgagee sale and the pros and cons of mortgagee sales.

    The short presentation will be followed by a panel discussion covering topics that include:

    * the mortgagee sale process;
    * property appraisal;
    * appointment of an agency;
    * marketing the property;
    * the risk of buying at mortgagee sale;
    * what happens when you can not gain access to the property;
    * what happens if the property is passed in at auction;
    * post auction sales;
    * can you make pre-auction offers.

    After this discussion we will hear from a regular buyer of mortgagee properties, Paul Reid of Icon City to gain his perspective. We will also hear from a solicitor who is regularly involved in mortgagee sales to add his perspective to the discussion. The panel will also address questions directly from the audience.
