Past tenants complained about electricity usage,
suggesting that I had something hooked up, in
another part of the building, to their meters.
No problem, says I. This is how we'll resolve
the uncertainty. I'll get a regd electrical inspector
out to check everything over. If he finds that
there are supply lines going to your meters
that don't terminate in your flat, I'll pay his
bill ($100-150) and pay you the same as
compensation.
If he finds all is in order, you pay his bill and the
matter will be resolved. Not 'pygmalion' likely (or
something like that) was the answer. They took
it to the TT, in the end, and lost.
