  • Tree and ground clearance

    Hi PT,

I'm trying to clear 3 big trees and 9 smaller trees in my back section. So far, it'd cost me about $1500 to cut the trees (quoted by a tree cutting co). Then I'll need to pay for another company to take the roots out (not sure how much it'll cost); then...I'll have to pay for an excavation company to clear the ground (not sure how much it'll cost).

This looks rather expensive. Does anyone have any other cheaper options?

The reason I'm wanting to do it is to have a bigger play area and also prep for potential second dwelling.

    Appreciate feedback.

    Big Diggers

We had the same problem with a large Norfolk pine we needed to remove, I didn’t even get a change to get a price from the tree companies as my digger drive had it down in less than 10 mins.
I cut it in half digger put it on the back of a truck and took it away. Probably cost less than $200.

If you have the space it can be much quicker and easier to have a digger pull down the tree so that the roots come out at the same time. Removing roots once the tree has been chopped is more difficult.
