Thanks to Scott for organising another great meetup last night, and to Matt for coming all the way down here to speak.

It was a real shame though that out of the 40 people booked, only about 1/2 turned up on the night. There were so many empty seats I found it embarrassing, and I hadn't even had anything to do with organising it.

Scott, I hope this doesn't put you off organising these in the future. People should be aware that this happened - it's too easy for each person to assume that they will be the only no-show, and think it's OK not to bother sending apologies in advance. When people have gone to all this trouble to organise a get-together and/or to travel to a city/venue to speak, I think it's pretty rude of us not to show up or send apologies if we can't at the last minute. We wouldn't want to lose the facilities we have at Bealey Ave either - I bet they weren't too happy with their 50% of expected/promised turnover.

A good night was had by those of us who were there though, so please don't give up.

PS Oh - just realised we missed Matt's dancing.......
