Default Beat the Bank Seminar anyone?

    Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone will be signing up for the beat the bank seminar? Is it worthwhile going to seminars such as these?

I read that the NZIP conference is next weekend - is that worth going to? Will I learn to understand the property business better?

I haven't been to any of these and am wondering what do you all think?

    Many thanks in advance

Thanks for writing Whitt - Oh i dont want to buy anything - surely nothing in the USA (out of sight will be out of mind for me!)
Do you think it is a seminar that will genuinely provide some useful materials and understanding pertaining to NZ's property business?

Bit hard to tell since they have not run it yet.
Typically these types of events do offere some value and info you just need to pick and choose. And be carefull on the upsells as they tend to tailor events around what they want to sell.

My pick is just join a property association and learn slowly over time from old timers who have been there done that. Rather than the get rich quick bunch

Ok - will pick and choose what they have to say so I may learn a little more. I have not been to these sort of seminar so it will be interesting.

What can I do when joining a property association? I am always told associations dont really like newbies, I dont want to be put down or discouraged . Definitely will not get into the get rich scheme. Thanks for that good advice !

Hence this forum is where I read most - it is a slow reading process through all these threads!

    Ok good idea.

Be aware also if you do attend beatbank seminar it may include tax lien upsell which has bad reviews on this PT forum.

I would save the $50 personally.

But then again, you couldn't pay me to go to a Phil Jones event.

    Default what's to lose?

I listened to the free webinar last week and found it valuable and motivating. If you have a brain and can distinguish and weed out the upsell then I think a newbie such as myslef can gain from these events.

If I was in NZ then I would defintely attend one of these events. Gees ...I spent more than $50 yesterday on lunch for my family and I am going to get zero back from that.
