Evenin' all. My in-laws bought 5 of these eonoheat jobbies to use as central heating in their 1980's villa. I was doubtful, but they work a treat. The whole house has gone from damp and cold ice box, to slightly damp nice warm house. They could do with a dehumidifier or two, but the heaters are doing a shit load better than any number of oil rads did.
They have all 5 of them on for 12hrs a day or so, and have seen their power bill jump by about $150/ month, but they reckon that's well worth having a warm house.
On the evidence of this, we've bought 4 to run in our newly insultated house, and will bung some into the rental to make the downstairs room more comfortable as it's a blimmin ice box.
Agreed with opinion on here that with a correctly insulated house they are ideal, but in a standard Kiwi shed they'd be useless. Better off with a heat pump and rugging up in the areas it don't reach.
