Thread: Body Corp Fees!

    Angry Body Corp Fees!

Hello, could someone help me out with my question?

I am trying to figure out, does my property managers pay the fees, through the rent collected? or should I pay them through my cheque account for my property? Totally undecided and confused!

Actually, was getting mail from my body corporation, that could not spell the name right, or address ... I told my property manager, and she informed me not to pay, as they could be frauds. So to make a long story short ... we now have a new body corporation, and are now demanding the full amount, that the last body coroporation wanted. Have no problems with this, but am a bit put out with my property manager, for not informing me so. And the simple fact that I haven't anything lefted to pay for the bill.

Any help with my problem, would be most appreciated!
    thanks ... confused!

I would keep control of that myself but my PM charges for paying bills. I do like to have some control over where my money goes.

I wouldn't imagine the balance on your rental account (with the PM) would be sufficient to pay BC fee's would they?

ahhh ... hell no! no where near how much their asking for, but that is the total amount for the last 3 years. So "yes" it is way over my head. Just came up with getting a loan out to cover for the buffer ... then getting all payments fully in my court, instead of leaving it up to the so called professionals!

The PM collects the rent and gives it to you.
Pay the body corp fees yourself.
The mail from the body corporation should come to you.
It's your money - keep a close eye on it.

Thankyou ... everyone, will get on to it quick az!

Still peed with my PM for telling me that crap, and getting me into this mess! Anyone sugget a desent or reliable PM?

my PM charges for paying bills.
Yes ... so does mine, they also look after the tenate and the rent comes through regular! Had big hassels over the council sending me payment from the wrong address/apartment ... and they took care of it. Then the body corporation, couldn't spell properly and all mail received from them was unreadable ... dah! That too has finally been dealt with by my PM, but never told me if the new ones were reliable. I guess, they really are doing there job properly!

    Hi islandzac,

    3 years BC fees owing?

I would suggest that you can't lay the blame solely at the PM's feet.

Were you checking your statements from the PM? The lack of any deduction for BC fees over the last 3 years should have alerted you to the fact that something was not quite right.

I agree with Paul - you need to sanity check everything and understand your business - it is a business you are in after all.

boys ... boys ... boys, hold up, will yah!

If you had read my 1st post, I said my PM was checking out the old BC for FRAUD! and too not pay! This is how long it has taken to get to where I am now. 3 years.

so the PM has added value probably by having a bigger view (from many properties) than you (with the one). Good stuff!!
