Thanks, I was misinformed so it seems.
Upon describing my situation to a representative from the NZ Building and Housing Department, I was lead to believe that I should take my landlord to tribunal.
Oh and out of interest, things between the LL and I are already frosty. After only having moved in this year 6th february, she issues our flat with a letter on the 19th february that she wants us gone by the 7th March. I am on a periodic tenancy and she did not give the 90 days as described in the Act. I did not move out, which then she decided to give me my entitled 90 days.. Theres been numerous other things, such as shutting off the power for days on end, turning up numerous times without consent to do inspections and to show prospective tenants.. (I could go on forever!!! ). To be honest I do not respect her at all and I was just trying to find a way to get even with her
Alas.. It was not to be. So you all think I shan't go to the tribunal?

Not on the bond issue. However, the two you mention are claimable. Have a chat to tenancy services. I suspect all is not what it seems here. No LL wants a turnover of tenants so fast.

You had said initially that the bond had been lodged after 26 days, and yet you say here in this post that you have only been in the property for 13 days?
When did you pay the bond money to the LL, and how?
How could there possibly be 'numerous other things' in such a short space of time?
Why the need for such hostile behaviour from both/either yourself and the LL?
Why do you think they need you gone,.......your manner perhaps?

Glen,
You have misread im_a_bucket's post.
They state that they moved in on 6th February, not 13 days ago.
I'm_a_bucket - no use going to tribunal over the bond lodgement. If things are as you describe, the LL sounds like a nutter. Move on, put it behind you.
Of course, there may be more to this story.
Paul.
