Can someone please tell me how you run an institution into the ground and also get them to pay you $1million pounds per annum for the rest of your life after you quit.
Seriously how do you do it? I'm sure I could just about manage the running into the ground bit, how hard could that be? But how do you get them to agree to the big payout while you're screwing them? That bit seems a bit tricky.

And now she's off to the UN. Well that's about the most corrupt, officious, inept organisation there is.
I guess firstly, she'll hire a few spin doctors. They had over 300 for the Labour government, so they would need more than that for the UN developement programme. Then maybe she could hire some policy anlaysts, global warming advisors, set up a few sub-committees etc. and by then she'll be ready to rock. Just gotta solicit some donations, make a few speeches and then collect her award for being the best development head since sliced bread.

Helen gets about $40K going forward as an ex-PM. (And the use of a car, and a chauffeur driven car when on official business). Don't know what her superannuation will be, but 28 years as an MP would see her with an annuity of more than $50K easy.
So, not quite $250K, but still a nice stippy.
