  • In the Virgin story, there was mention of this:
Staff in Melbourne told her that the issues were due to Virgin changing its baggage handlers in Auckland before Christmas and that there were passengers on an earlier flight on December 22 who still did not have their bags a week later, she said.
Whoever at Virgin made the decision to change baggage handlers just before peak season demand should be shown the door! What an idiotic thing to do, at that time of the year. It's the sort of thing one would expect of the Crapstar of the skies.

    • Funny, just reading a Richard Branson book I got given for xmas. The second part of his autobiography called "Finding my Virginity".

In it, he repeatedly states that Virgin does things better. That they are foremost a customer service company. A company that has a brand people like and trust. He says this over and over again.

This is the way they turn companies around apparently. They buy a business that is doing badly - say a mobile phone service where they have terrible customer service. They then put their own people into the customer service department and turn it around.

So, interesting to hear that their customer service has been so bad in this instance.

By the way, Virgin Blue (as it was called) was started with 10 million pounds and worth 2.4 billion pounds only 4 years later... Bit better return than doing up houses!
      Squadly dinky do!
