I heard that the Government were taking the full quota of immigrants (50,000) next year.

    Bring it on!

November 2004 is 1570 or 28% drop from same month 2003. December 2004 is worse at 320 or 79% drop from same month 2003. Are we close to entering the slump period? Details at

Immigration is something the government are in control of (give or take overstayers) and I think they turn the tap sort of on and off, so to speak, to try and slow things like the housing market, inflation etc.

I guess they are trying to slightly put the brakes on a bit.
But if it's true that they're going to take the brakes off again next year, weehee!!!

    cheers-

Im not keen on immigration increasing, just for property values to go up. I agree that we might have room for the right kind of immigrants, but only if it makes NZ a better country.

Ive been travelling around the world and I miss home, I miss NZ for the open spaces and the tiny population. We have a wonderful country.

NZ lifestyle is worth a lot more to me then money.
