Wellington property management company Portfolio Property Management Limited has been put into liquidation - two years after the Tenancy Tribunal said it "consciously misled" students into renting an earthquake-prone building.

The first liquidator's report for the company, of which Craig Relph was the sole director and shareholder, says the judgment debt relates to a cost award made in favour of a former tenant of the company which remains unpaid.

The report says the director stated no accounting records had been kept by the company and the only records the official assignee was able to obtain were various lease agreements and applications and orders made to the tenancy tribunal.
Investigations revealed the company owns no land or property, plant and equipment and has at no stage operated a bank account, the report says.
