    Well every persons own investing stratergy/ needs are different.
    I personally like to invest in towns/ cities which are not largely dependant on one industry. That way if it goes under you have better stability.

    As for the buy low cost property vs cheapies. if you bought 2x $150,000 vs 1x $300,000. you could end up with higher maintenance costs. there is twice as many things to go wrong like hot water cylinders to replace, broken taps, electrical wiring etc...
    So twice the work to manage vs only one property.
    lower price tenants get lower paying tenants which could cause more problems than the average house in average street.

    Anyhow my 2 cents.
