  • Most of us are still alive and kicking.
Still having the same stupid debate about house prices doubling every 10 years - and how it can't continue.
The price of gold hasn't done much over the last 10 years.
Watch it double if Trump attacks North Korea.

    • I drop in every now and then, when the economy gets interesting.
These discussions have been really valuable to me personally.
      It's such a unique environment.
Now if only Spaceman would show up, so we can finish our Zeno's paradox discussion, or his angels on the head of a pin version of it. (I'd like to discuss it from the point of view of Maxwell's demon, ironically).

        • Bob,
You might need to lock your phone when you're away from it. Your teenage granddaughter has got hold of your phone and just posted some cutesy girly emoticon and some comic book type z thing.

You might need to explain to her that:

If you've got more money than you can ever spend, ways to get more money become uninteresting.
If you're not a creative person, ideas must seem the same.
It's the utility value of a thing.

Personally, I've never understood why people buy ornaments, but there you go, some sort of endorphin must be produced in their brains to imply value.

Debt ceiling debate is starting again. Currently US$20Trillion and needs to rise. So that's a $3.3Trillion raise in 4 years, approx $2Billion PER DAY!

            • Yes PropertyTalk is coming up to it's 14th birthday! It started in Sept 2003 and there's so much property related history captured here. News items, opinions, events and stuff affecting us all at the time is in our forums. I'll find the actual start date of PropertyTalk and make a note to start a new discussion etc.

              cheers,

              Donna

O.K. The seventh was not a Friday. But it was close.

And was it no more than a 'correction?'

Remember Bernard Hickey and his 30-40% house price crash?
