  • Wellington PTers! Dean is in the House (Wednesday 10am, 13th June)

    Hi Everyone

We have hassled Dean into coming along to one of our famous Wellington PT coffee mornings. Wednesday 10am - 13th June.

He is in town for a talk at the CAPPIA on 12th June (free for members and $20 for non-members). Will be well worth it!

He only has one request - good coffee .

We will now be meeting at Juniper www.juniperrestaurant.co.nz

Please reply to this thread if you would like to come along.

    Cheers
    Leonie

      Great work grandma!

I'm no coffee drinker but you name the place and I'll be there.

Can anyone tell me who Dean is?

Is he the guy who is developing the Rialto and other huge developments around Wellington?

How about the Parade Cafe in Oriental Bay (opposite Freyberg Pool). Plenty of parking, plenty of seats, good coffee and great eats.

            Anyone else in?

              Hello Grandma,

Most grandmas I know would never say eats used as a noun.

              Just an observation.

Most grandmas that I know would not throw their jobs in to do property full time either. Great spotting! Have a good night.

Sounds great - pencil me in.
And I think the Parade's eats are worth a visit.
                    What's their dress code like?
(what socks will Dean be wearing?)

Is there enough seating at Parade? I can only remember a handfull of indoor tables but they can't be pulled together or moved around. Don't think we can count on the outdoor weather at the moment!

If there's enough searting then all good. I'm there.

Any other ideas with plenty of parking and good coffee?

I may come, I would like to meet Dean. It just depends where I am actually working that week and weather its close to where you are having the meeting.

The cbd is usually too busy during the week for carparks and coffee/seating.
So what sort of place is empty?
Would you believe garden centres and hardware/megastores?
Huge empty carparks and empty cafes inside at 10am weekdays.
Only you do need a car to get to them.
                            Just a thought.

I'm racking my brains but not being a coffee drinker just don't know enough of the hangouts. I reckon we'll get better attendance if it is somewhere CBDish, and so long as someone gets there early, grabs a few tables, and even lets the cafe know there is a group descending, then we should be right.

Actually, just thought of a place. Junpier on johnstone St. They have a semi private upstairs area (seating about 40) that if we let the cafe know we might be able to have a section of it set aside for us.

                              What say the masses?
