I was with a friend of mine who over the years has bought a few properties all in the one area.
He was showing me around the outside of his latest purchase when the neighbour popped his head up over the fence.
In a simple matter of fact way, the neighbour said he didn't like the way the neighbourhood was losing its character with 'families' moving out (I guess there was a family in the house before) and all the rentals appearing and he was going to do his bit to stop it.
He had decided that he was going to make it unattractive for my mate's property to be a rental.
He was going to do this by letting the trees along the boundary grow so high and dense so as to stop the sun going onto the property. He felt this would turn people off as the property would lose some of its morning sun and all of its afternoon sun.
Once it was 'bought' by a family he would trim the trees again.
We both thought it was a bit bizarre and I wondering if anyone else ever had ever experienced something similar?
