There are in place recognised places to check a tenant before signing them up. ( TIINZ / Baycorp ).
This is not foolproof and we all know that there is a risk that any tenant can 'shoot through ' and owe rent etc.
When this happens there is again a process to maybe tracking down these people.
Most of them are now renting someone elses property and as we know the same thing can happen again.
Is it possible and has anyone thought of a Tenant Register administered by Tenancy Services for example in that the tenant agrees that their place of residence is accessable to Rental Agencies, and registered landlords.
Basically this would mean I would now have their new address and also a good check when looking for a tenant that if they agree with this then they should be a good tenant.
I realise there is probably more to it than this but it would help solve one problem.
What do all the experts think.?
