    Sounds like a simple solution until you look at the new restrictions on rentals in NZ.

    No insulation in an airBNB would mean it can't be rented.

    No code of compliance on that kitchenette put in to allow you to airBNB as an 'entire place' listing means it can't be rented.


    These government driven barriers to entry for potential land lords may now bite them in the [email protected]@

    Yes I was thinking this, heaps of them can't just be converted to long term rentals aye?

    Not unless they rent to 'flatmates' I guess.

    I was wondering about the numbers of returning locals and the impact on housing and rentals especially. Mr Peters said there are some 80,000 travelling, and there are hundreds of thousands in Australia who, if they lose their jobs might have to head back here. To family and possibly welfare if they don't qualify there.

    Meanwhile visa holders here will probably be allowed to have them renewed as they pretty much can't leave.
