Suburb war ends as tenant departs Grenada North

A feud between warring Grenada North neighbours has come to a sudden end after one of the fighting factions packed up her belongings and left the suburb.
Hope Taylor, who had lived in her Tobago Cres state house for three years, shifted out of her gated home earlier this month.
Ms Taylor and next-door neighbours the Muliipu family - Tala and Paisa, and one of their six sons, Joseph - had been squabbling for three years.
In that time, police have dealt with more than 70 incidents in the north Wellington suburb. There have been allegations and counter-claims of animals disappearing, bottles being hurled, assault and death threats.
Both sides had gone to the Police Complaints Authority, claiming police had not ended the friction.
Housing New Zealand spokeswoman Kathryn O'Sullivan said mediation had reached an outcome between the two households.
"As a responsible landlord, the corporation has worked with the police in an attempt to resolve the conflict between neighbours in Tobago Cres. There have been a variety of approaches to resolve this situation, including mediation and neighbourhood meetings.
"We hope the dispute has been resolved as one of the tenants involved has now vacated the property. "
The spat was this week featured on reality TV show Neighbours at War.
