  • Review of the Residential Tenancies Act 1986

A reminder to all Landlords that the closing date for submissions on the Act is 5pm on 18 February ie next Friday.

If you have not already made your submissions then get them in now.

Some of the suggestions from tenant groups and the Government are things like

    - Landlords having to be licensed
    - Warrants of Fitness for rental properties

Guess who will have to fight their way through the tangle of red tape and pay the fees for this and more!

If you don't submit your views then the Government will think you agree with these sorts of things - your voice needs to be heard.

The Department of Building and Housing has put out a short booklet which includes a submission form covering various topics for you to comment on - get hold of one now and send it in or alternativly write with your views to

It's not hard to do but it could have far reaching implications on your business. You can't complain at the result if you don't make the effort to participate now.
