What's really funny is all these tax slaves think working from home is a good idea until you find there job is being sourced off shore to the Philippines or India. My accounts lady already works from the Philippines.

Indeed. I have my friend working in the Philippines as well.

Are they book keeping or full accountancy?
I presume they are a NZ specialist - What would be the cost savings compared to time spent explaining things etc - just curious
There are NZ professional services firms that get the grunt work done offshore (accounting, legal etc). Then the 'locals' look over it and add a few touches and clients are non-the-wiser. This is more common than you may believe.
I agree with Jeffa - 'remote working' has opened up the resource pool for NZ businesses. But this works both ways. NZ is relatively low wage so there's nothing stopping offshore businesses hiring NZ based workers.
80% of my business is offshore. Our next-door neighbour has just returned from the UK with his family and he's still employed by the same UK company. I suspect many returning Kiwis are the same.
