An Ethiopian arrived in Auckland as a new immigrant. He
stops the first person he sees walking down the street and
says, 'Thank you Mr. New Zealander for letting me into this
beautiful country, giving me subsidised housing, WINZ food
grants, free hospital care, and free education!'
The person he spoke to replies, 'You are mistaken, I am
Zimbawean.' Puzzled, the Ethiopian goes on and encounters
another passer-by. "Thank you for having such a beautiful
country here in New Zealand!'
The person says, 'I not a kiwi, I am a Cook Islander.' The
new arrival walks further and the next person he sees he
stops, shakes his hand and says, 'Thank you for a wonderful
New Zealand!'
That person puts up his hand and says, 'I am from Hong
Kong. I am not a New Zealander.'
Then he sees a nice lady and asks, 'Are you a kiwi?'
She replies, 'No, I am from Croatia!'
Puzzled, he asks her, 'Where are all the New Zealanders?'
The Croatian lady looks at her watch and says...
'Probably at work.'
