Len Brown has got to GO! Or we be bankrupted!

Here's why & its nothing to do with his flirtations on the side, personally i couldnt care less about that if he was doing a good job. But we all know he's not and is digging deeper into debt' preparing us for bankruptcy. I received my rates bill a couple of days back it's over $3000 ! Its gone up $400!

"Since Mr Brown's first budget in 2011, debt has risen from $3.9 billion and is projected to reach $6.7 billion this financial year. Every day the council has borrowed $2.5 million and the interest bill this year is $347 million. Orakei councillor Cameron Brewer says these are huge numbers and show a worrying skyward escalation with debt forecast to reach $12.9 billion by 2022 with repayments of $752 million."
    [source: NZ Herald ]

There will be a march for Stand Down Len Brown March, to be held on Saturday 22 February at 12 noon. The march will start from QE2 Square at Britomart and progress up Queen Street to Aotea Square.

If you feel frustrated and fedup , then take action & attend .

The full article from NZ Herald on Len Browns financial mismanagement is here:

Soaring debt, hefty rate increases and a blow-out in the wages bill have marked Len Brown's first term as Mayor and Treasurer of the Super City.

The reality is the debt issue was around before the election, and he still got voted in.

I'm more concerned by his conflict of interest taking perks from Skycity, not declaring them, and voting in favour of the casinos expansion.

The debt can't be blamed on Len Brown - AKL should have been planning, budgeting and spending on infrastructure for years. I think the Labour Gov't held it back all the while they were in power and now the National Gov't has had to get it in action at a huge cost to NZ and AKL.

          cheers,

The subject of any protest largely has to be about his conduct.

Surely if you are worried about debt you should be glad that your rates bill has gone up.

              Maybe spending is the problem?

Len Brown has no qualms in digging all ratepayers deeper into debt. The hole is getting bigger under his leadership. I do blame him, never voted for him at the last election because of that.

After what came out during the media investigation of the affair, I am happy the runner-up missed out.

PS: The other thread comment was not a troll.

It was in response to someone making, in my opinion, an unsubstantiated exaggerated comment .
If they can provide something to back it up I will state I was wrong.
That's what I was asking them to do.

I agree SB, Palino looked just as bad.

SB, with your comments lately, you often don't state something, you ask a really open ended question... which I think you're hoping will lead someone to answer in such a way as to let you then jump on them with the answer you have at hand... but hey, that's just how it seems to me, happy to concede I'm wrong, I don't really care .
