Cmon Team NZ--My red socks are getting really stinky

The real issue is that it would be a real shame to lose to a corporation

The real irony, missed by the majority of NZ'ers, is that red is the colour of Oracle. They don't call it 'red stack' for nothing. GO ORACLE!

      Emirates is Red too.

I find Dean Barker's state of calm annoying now. I understand it's good to be calm as a leader etc - however I want to see some emotion - some sign of passion and real desire to win.

Spithill oozes confidence, talks his team up and their chances of getting the Cup and he is following through!

Dean has never talked it up, even when he's had a great win he plays it down and says the next race 'its going to be tough' and so it is....so I guess he too is following through. Sigh!

      cheers,

      Donna

Keep in mind Spithill only has to make 1 mistake in the next 4 races-

Its kind of a complicated team to support Lefty--is it the Billionare--the skipper--or America (theres only one on board and most of the boat was made here) just curious..
If they lose ,you can bet the billionare will have a go in the courts, especially if they get within the 2 penalty range.

I could ask the same from you. Are you supporting the skipper, NZ, the Govt (as part-backers) or the Arab airline?

I think most are supporting the way Grant Dalton and his team from little ol' NZ, have managed to achieve so much.

Indeed, just one of Grant's numerous achievements.
I am pleased you recognise his success in this regard.

Notwithstanding the -2 penalty, if Oracle win one more race, they have won 8 races - the same as NZ. One more than that means they've won nine races, although score only 7 points. Given the fair-play nature of NZ'ers, how can you hold your collective heads high and take the cup knowing you had the inferior boat in that scenario? In other words - beaten on the water.

Leftette you're just stirring - deep down you want NZ to win just like everyone does...even Americans.

                        Go Team NZ!

                        cheers,

Leftette they cheated and shouldn't be defending the cup in the first place. Wonder if anyone has rechecked the boat since it started going fatser???

Also they have just one American in their team - what a joke! It is essentially 'the world vs NZ' but no one ever said life was fair!

Its an american billionare with unlimited dosh which allows him to hire anyone(''the world'') vs New Zealand.
But credit where credit is due -it has been an amazing comeback and having said that its even more amazing that a small outfit with limited funds has been able to step up and well and truly given them a wake up call--so wake up calls all around.
But my point is still--Its not really America vs New Zealand.
It goes beyond countries as in so many cases--the corporate world has risen above politicians, and governments.
Sorry a bit off topic here but lets be real.
Hardly anyone can afford this type of racing with these boats and quite frankly,no one gives a stuff in America.
So it will be interesting to see how it goes if Oracle does win and it stays there.
If the Kiwis win I would bet my bottom dollar they try to make it more accessible to more clubs by changing things to make it more affordable-Time will tell.
