  • UK Greens want landlords to pay for households extra winter fuel costs

    Lump it on investors - why not! Greens want Landlords taxed to pay £9bn to support households rising fuel costs over winter. Really why not choose a group that really wouldn't miss the payment.

    Why not businesses?
    Why not the super-rich (of which there are lots of them - esp. the oligarchs)?
    Why not the banks?

    I always find it disheartening when political parties hit hard-working folk like the small-time residential landlords - i.e. 'ma and pa' investors to fund initiatives that really wealthy entities could be hit up for. For example, why don't these political parties present their cause and numbers using the billions of profit banks made during the last year?

    What a joke my Tenants all earn way more than I do and yet I'm still able to heat hearth and home simply by buying my firewood in Spring currently got around 15m in for next winter still tossing up whether to get some more in...
