A friend passed away recently whose business still has four years to run on a fixed lease. The business is now non-tenable. Even worse the day before his death he signed an additional lease for more space on the lot. His wife is the other listed director of the business but has had minimal involvement and she was both unaware of the new signing and did not sign herself. The landlord has no intention of giving any leeway to the situation. Does anyone have any experience in this type of situations, especially with regard to directors not signing leases and any recommendations for legal avenues. Thanks

The wife needs legal advice and representation. Best to get Commercial lease lawyers, so she gets the best advice from the get go.
