  • New landlord wants to change from periodic to fixed term

Recently my landlord sold his place to another landlord and am now the new landlords tenant. I had a periodic tenancy with the old landlord but the new landlord wants to change it to fixed term. Can he do this?

      It's now 90 days notice so that's 3 months.

It could be good time to negotiate terms. If agreed by both parties your current agreement can be stopped immediately and a new FT started. Otherwise LL can issue a 90 day notice to terminate your current agreement.

So, after all that the short answer is:

Yes, your Landlord can: Either now with your permission/agreement or give you 90 days notice in writing.
