Sometimes, even the short term cabins have taxpayer funded tenants in them.

Yeah - I’m in Bali on holiday and there’s no Govt support if you’ve not got a job but the Balinese belong to a village and it’s a supportive environment. If you’re not working you’re given work.

It’s not an ideal place as theres less freedom - NZ is much better IMHO but the people here seem happier. The traffic is mental busy yet there’s no road rage.

There’s next to no rates, and income tax.

We love Bali, been there about 6 times.
Used to be super cheap.

They see white people as walking ATM's.

Probably should add that as a foreigner you cant directly own property in Bali. It's leasehold for us.


It's also as corrupt as F#@$. Family member owns a resort over there and there's cash payments going out each week to the local cheif.

Yeah it’s a good holiday destination esp in winter.

Not sure we’d rush back. There’s many places around the world to visit.
