If this was to eventuate, I would predict the RBNZ would have to take rates negative to fix this fk up, and house prices would definitely triple by decades end.
This is a worst case scenario

The Fed and RBNZ will cut rates early if inflation retreats fast in 2023 to save the economy from going into a deep recession

If inflation hasn't reversed (which I highly doubt) then yes , the central banks will push our economies into a deep recession likely worse than the global financial crisis of 08/09

If it's anywhere near as tortuous as opening a bank account in NZ, I imagine t'will not be simple or easy.

      • China will remove all COVID related quarantine regulations and will lift all restrictions on international flights beginning January 8th, 2023, and has downgraded COVID-19 from a ‘Category A’ disease to a ‘Category B

So what was the point of locking people in cages for 3 years when much of China's population isn't vaccinated?

Yes exactly, total waste of time just like our commie government. Total over-reaction world wide for the common cold. As I have said many times, I look out my window and I DONT see dead people! If I did I would have locked myself away.

What impact will this have for little old us Jeffa? Lower inflation figures?

China reopening will likely increase GDP so technically could increase inflation
                Im unsure for now.

                • If the RBNZ can't get inflation down to 2% without destroying the economy and housing market, they may settle for an inflation rate of 4 to 5%

Just buckle up it's going to get rough in 2023.

                    I don't agree.

It was a nasty variant of the influenza virus, rather than a variant of the common cold.

The problems were exacerbated by both the disease and the pseudo-cure being Genetically Modified Organisms [GMOs].

Just how the NZ Communist Party [formerly known as the Greens] could endorse GMOs being directly injected into the body while fulminating over GMOs in the food chain, is perhaps the ultimate example of political hypocrisy. (Not that we should be surprised at that - given who they are.)

Ok, if so, did the reaction justify the outcome??

                      • Comrade commissar Cindy's commie clown-show response demonstrated very clearly that they and their bureaucratic sycophants didn't have a clue.

They must all hate Sweden with a passion, being the nation that showed them all up for what they really were.

The big question is - has the wider population of NZ and other countries learned anything from what happened?

                        Most likely not.

I doubt it, but all it took to see through this scam was to open your eyes and get off the corupt MSM outlets.
