Read this by Andrew King - if only to get the full summary of what LLs have put up with in recent years and have far off the mark the Govt has been in managing the housing crisis blaming property investors.

I didn't get all the way through the item.

Seems to be the usual ho-hum, warmed-over, lack-lustre, old-news stuff that particularity suits Andrew whose pic makes him appear as stuffy as what I read of what was written.

NZ PIs do not need reminding of FarGoneBoy's anti-LL legislation impacts. Tenants would likely be the same, but they would not see past the commie fog and FUD* so easily generated by the W'gton comrade commissariat.

Meantime, the NZPIF plays musical chairs with the CEO and President doing a round-robin swapsie when the music stops.

All talk of "what we do behind the scenes" is hollow, vacuous rhetoric. If justice is to be done for PIs and tenants, then the NZPIF needs to be sure that it sees to it that any such justice is seen to be done.

If Sharon and Andrew can't achieve that, then they both need to be "put out to pasture."

Sooner, rather than later.

^^ Andrew has been the spokesperson for NZPIF and by default PIs for years. It’s a thankless task esp. when Labour is in power. I’m glad he’s still willing to front up for PIs.

Better to have them and others that share their thoughts like Ashley C and Matthew C than no one with clout. They may be ignored by Labour but other parties like Act and National will be listening - we hope aye.

It simply does not work, Donna. From among the top, I know that the NZPIF does not want to come out all feisty, pointed and hot and strong, battling for PIs, because the NZPIF doesn't want to be shunned by the gummint as a consequence.

To ensure the NZPIF can get a little bit of an ear from W'gton, the NZPIF is thereby precluded from strongly advocating for & powerfully representing NZ residential PIs.

In a loose sense, the NZPIF suffers from a phenomenon called "industry capture." Something NZ governments are adept at achieving - especially with organisations which can ordinarily be expected to be critical of gummint policy.

Despite that likelihood, if the people remain incumbents, they tacitly agree to being 'captured' as part of the 'system.'

Real leaders lead from the front - not from the background.
