  • Agent wants me to sign "Multi Offer Presentation Proposed Purchaser Acknowledgement"

    Hi I don't suppose the above Form is a legal document? A few hours after I dropped in an offer for a property, agent emails me to says they just received another offer and wants me to sign this form (and encouraged me to better my offer of course).

    If I don't have a printer and can't print out and sign the form, what would happen?

    probably nothing.
    The form is about the agents protecting their back so you cant come to them and say you didnt tell me there was another offer. if you had i would have increased my offer.
    its really up to what you want to do with the property, if you want it then send a response by email. if not, then tell them you arent prepared to increase your offer the sit back & see if the other one gets accepted.

        Yeah you don't have to sign this.

        As Keiwthw said, it's for the agent's benefit, not yours.

        No real harm in signing it. So up to you.

          Dont sign it-- it will say you have just put in your best offer---if you dont sign it they wont know your position which leave you free to negotiate moving forward as you see fit-- you become a wildcard to the agent as you havnt stated that you have put in your best offer--- they will pressure you but they cant make you increase your offer or sign the form
          In a strangee way you put yourself in a better negatiating position than other offerers as they are more likely to make more contact with you to try and establish your position--which gives you a better chance to be hear feedback on the other offers--some agents have loose lips

            Yes, but it could also exclude you from the process completely. Your choice, but let the salesperson know that you are still interested,if this is the case.

              It shouldnt exclude you from the process-- the agent is legally required to present your offer---as ladyagent says make sure they know you are still interested. invite them to come back to you with feedback once offers are presented--- if they dont like the other offers it may be you chance to negotiate further
              In theory they dont need to go back t the others as they have (in theory) put in their best offer

                      Well, we do have the Electronic Transactions Act that specifies a number of principles relating to e-docs.

                      But given how simple it is these days to, ahhhh, 'amend' e-docs, I wonder how REAs get on?

                        REINZ has introduced a digital signing platform for S&P's etc. Hopefully won't be long before it is mainstream.
