So because Tauranga has a greater proportion of low income superannuitants, the median house prices of around 600k in that fine city are more expensive than Auckland's one million-ish and probably for that matter Queenstown too. Never mind any of the fundamentals behind the income figures demograhia, Hey just label the city as the most expensive place in NZ!! .... Sure great idea. Gee who believes any of this "research"?

NZ has shut down for the Summer, not much to report on and the interns are running the office. Have you not noticed the rubbish stories that have made news in the last 3-4 wks?

TV3 lead story last week was the dangers of the microchips in some cats not working and how dangerous that was... 5 min + story with interviews with vets and st least one crazy cat lady.

Interesting! I had assumed there was something funny in the data when they claimed that, but didn't consider the retirement effect.

I'd have thought that they'd only include incomes of those who work. But then, that'd make it accurate journalism wouldn't it.
