Approaching to buy property directly from HNZ or the council?

Anyone had experience or heard of someone apporaching the council or housing nz to purchase their property?

I have a nice little block of flats behind a house I own and wonder if anyone has had any success before?

HNZC are upgrading, modifying and extending their existing stock. Pretty hard to get them to buy something like a block of flats at the mo.

impossible to get Councils to buy flats .. They deff do not want to be involved in Social Housing ..

I have sold a number of properties to Housing NZ. Simply ring them and ask who buys there properties. Once you have a name simply ring them.
If you dont want to do it yourself, get an real estate agency to do it for you. If you have something they are looking for it could be well worth your while. Years ago they would not buy property unless they owned the whole title. That is they did not like cross lease, but that may have changed.
Its certainly worth a shot and quite easy.

Sorry I thought you meant you had property you wanted to sell. I have never heard of Housing NZ selling their properties other than to tenants.

I have several purchased off of HNZ.

My gf has recently purchased a property off HNZ. It was listed with a REA and she didn't know it was a HNZ until after she'd gone unconditional.

The house was completely renovated and my gf only had to put up new net curtains.

The section is also large enough to subdivide and put two more dwellings on AND she paid $50K below RV.
