So what's causing this rise?
As a mildly interested observer of the Auckland property market, I keep hearing about people losing money in finance company collapses, managed fund freezes, rising unemployment, 4 day working weeks, an ageing population, swine flu and overall tightening of banks' lending criteria, how is it that things are booming? Surely all of these factors would determine that we're still in a slump but where is the money coming from to fund the 'Auckland house prices tipped to rocket' premise?
It's just a strange time at the moment - seemingly a buying frenzy - but all of this 'bad' stuff going on. It makes you wonder what will happen when things get 'good' again.
