Needing celing tips for rumpus room

I have a fairly large rumpus room, and have the clear sheeting in several places on the roof to help with the lighting. Only problem is that I want to cover the exposed beams as it looks awful, but I dont want to put a proper ceiling in as it will make the room to dark. I would really appreciate any offers of advise.

If possible, just paint the beams a lighter colour. This negates the visual impact of dark lines in the room and at the same time makes the room look bigger.

You don't say what the other parts of the ceiling are (the bits without clear sheeting) ie. textured tiles, wood??
    Patience is a virtue.

If remainder of celing is gib/ plaster board then possibly gib around the beam. plaster joints etc then paint to match ceiling

        My celing

Thanks for the responses so far. My rumpus room is attached to my garage, there is a wall between the two, but the roofing goes along the whole way. There is clear sheeting, as well as iron, the black paper etc, just looks awful. So I would like to make a celing so you the beams, black paper iron etc arnt so noticeable, plus I still want the lighting to come thru. I really appreciate your help.

Sounds like you have the exposed netting/bldg paper / roofing etc either side of the beams/trusses.
Best way would be to fix smaller battens/nogs to the beams/truses & put lining between each set of beams.

The difficult part is that there could be condensation from the roofing. Maybe worth looking at 'external materials' ie. Hardiflex / corrugated iron etc as the actual lining. Would also look at throwing in some insulation into the space.

I agree with essence - paint out the ugly bits with white.
