Building an extension - process tips?

Done a few renovations, but no building extensons before. Where to start? I've contacted a draftsperson, but what else? Is it a matter of contacting a million contractors for foundation, surveyory, etc? And what type of quote would I expect from a builder? Thanks

Once you have your plans you can get someone to look after the whole job or you can organise it yourself if you have the time.

Average organising fee is around 10% of the cost but it is a lot of work.

I wold prefer to manage the job myself as a learning exeperience. I've done a few renos myself, but nothing involving foundation work or building consents.

Get the building consent sorted first. This shouldn't be too difficult. then while that is getting processed, contact some tradespeople to give you some quotes and go from there...
