    Lighting layout

Im trying to plan placement for lights in my kitchen... its driving me nuts

Does anyone have tips on how/where to place recessed halogen lights... Some say put them over benches for task lighting, Others say not directly over benches as it will create shadows.. I have no idea how far apart they should be

These are the fittings that are going in:

trying to line them up with objects in the kitchen and have them evenly spaced seems impossible

    yay, uploaded an image

The dining room has existing lights which are new, But not the same as the above linked lights. Thinking about making the whole area the new halogens...

In my opinion, you should ignore the architect and get what you want, which is even lighting throughout the kitchen, like daylight - which you can get using old-fashioned flourescent tubes.

You want lighting over the stove, the sink and other bench areas where you are likely to work. Maybe3e draw out a floor plan of your kitchen and take them into a lighting shop and ask their opinion. They should do that without charge, I would think.

I do not have an architect (other then the kitchen firm who designed the kitchen) i most definatly do want even lighting throughout... i want to use the halogen lights, i picked them

i do not like fluro tubes

The wall cabinets have lighting, they are either side of the stove, and on one side of the sink

Good idea taking the floor plan to a lighting shop
