    Fanatical

    you've lost me

like your circular conversations on currency

    in theory

    theory is better than practice

    but in practice

    it isn't

    have you defeated them?
    your demons"

    Hi Eri.

It's been so long since that discussion, and i've learnt so much about money, maybe it's time to look at it again.

What was the part you didn't like?

Maybe we can straighten it out.

    money goes in circles

    as do some conversations

cycles are great and are what life is all about

    but in the short term

i prefer to actually get somewhere

rather than keep circling back to the start

    and sorry

but don't feel you and i

    actually get anywhere

    so i'm off

    like an arrow
    have you defeated them?
    your demons

      Fair enough.
It is a huge subject, and I wasn't really looking forward to loosing the time to it myself.

If you're happy to stay gruntled, then I won't try and disgruntle you.

(It is funny to think that last time we looked at the topic, Trump, China and Bitcoin weren't even on the horizon).

I'd better let you shoot off then.
Good luck , an, uh, get stuck in.
      (ha).

        "losing"

        should have been "wasting"

        we don't need to know

        how a cell phone works

to be able to use one

        similarly

        we don't need to know

        all the theories

        on fractional reserve banking

        to borrow money

        for profit

        been wasting..

          ha.
          indeed.
although in the early days of cellphones, knowing that EM waves travel (like arrows ) in straight lines saved many a call from breaking up.

ps , the word was not lose, it was loose.

                yes.
                but a bit looser.
As in: Archers, loose your arrows!
Except it's Eddington's "arrow of time" in this case.

I guess my original burning question way back when , was:
Is our present money a false measure?
Even though in not a biblical type person, the idea is captured nicely by Proverbs 11:1.

As for my "what is money" fascination:
Well, finally, I can say it's the shiny stuff that spawned the bronze age, "metal".
In Lydia (two and a half thousand years ago), it first showed up as fetching gold and silver coins.
The name money came about because the Romans just happened to put their mint next to the temple of Juno, whos full name was Juno Moneta.
Of late, paper representing the metal has been used, and very recently the metal idea was stupidly removed form the equation to a great extent.
In the last few moments of the story, 0's and 1's have been used, I like to think of them as reminders of ancient metal.
                  And that's about it.
